Til3 is a new game being produced by M-Gate Labs for the iPhone. Its a simple matching game, that has one simple rule, you can only select tiles on the "Edge", inner tiles are off limits until they have a free edge. Other play modes may exist later down the line, once they are though up. To see the game in action click here.

Background

First off why is it called Til3? Its really easy, I was going to use File Tile, but it was taken, then maybe Tile Clipper, but it was already taken, so I changed the e to 3 in the word tile and you have Til3. Even though you may want to say Til-3, just say Tile.

I saw a game like this a few years ago on some web game website, but I'm going to take the concept even further.

This controls what you see.

Randomization

This controls how tiles will be shifted around.

  • None
    • Tiles are not altered after being placed
  • Some
    • 1/4 of the tiles are shifted around
  • Lots
    • 1/2 of the tiles are shifted around
  • CRAZY
    • 3/2 of the tiles are shifted around

Placement

This controls how tiles are placed.

• Placement (Version 1.1)
  • Standard
    • Tiles are selected at random
  • Structured
    • Tiles are selected in order
  • Partway
    • Tiles are selected in order, 8 times, then random, 8 times

Quick Til3

Quick Til3 is the free and simplified version of Til3, but the actual game is the same. When playing you don't get any options or scores, the game just asks, push to play and then the game starts. After the game is done, it just asks you to push to play again.
